Meet The Band
Kate Schroder
Kate Schroder is an Ottawa-born, Toronto-based artist. She is especially passionate about and trained in the arts & music (as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and actor).
Classically trained as a child and teenager, Kate has kept busy with performing both solo and with different bands (original music as well as cover bands). Some of her highlights have been playing at Canadian Music Week, JUNOfest, Doldrums Festival, D'arcy Symposium, and Exclaim!'s Class of 2020 Showcase.
In addition to performing live, Kate has been recording music since 2010. Whether it be producing EPs and singles for herself or for others, collaborating with bands she's in, or lending her voice as a freelance vocalist to countless other musicians' projects, she loves to be behind both a microphone and a digital audio workstation!
Matt McWaters
Matt McWaters was born in Toronto and spent his summers at the cottage in Huntsville. He discovered his love for music at an early age while rummaging through his parents’ extensive vinyl collection. Matt took up the bass in elementary school and has recorded & performed in many groups in a variety of styles from top 40, dance floor jazz, country music, funk & heavy metal just to name a few…
Matt Del Grosso
Matt Del Grosso is a university music grad and has been playing the drums for 15 years. His roots started in rock, but quickly changed to pop, hip hop and country as the years went by. His main goal is to “always keep them dancing” as his rocksteady beats never fail to provide that essential pulse and groove for the crowd! Be sure to give him a wave while he’s playing... (he loves that)
James Jakasa
James Jakasa is a Mississauga born musician who began drumming on pots and pans as a 3 year old and later picked up guitar to protect his family's ears and his mother's sanity. After many years of lessons and bedroom playing, it was a simple Kijiji advertisement in 2022 which led to him becoming a valued member of multiple GTA based bands and starting his own band. Now a multi-instrumentalist, he plays music spanning all genres with the goal of bringing audiences the same joy that made him fall in love with music at a young age.
